Open-to-new-experience week of actions in Hopeland

May 6 - 15, June 17 - 26, September 16 - 25, 2016

 

Hopeland is what its name would suggest: the land of hope in development. It is a 31 acre land located in Argolida with an excellent view, between mountain peaks, with olive trees as old as time, various fruit trees, many wild herbs and close to incredible beaches. It is located only 130km away from Athens, very close to world renowned archaeological and tourist attractions, like Mycenae, Ancient Nemea, Ancient Corinth, Tiryns, Nafplio and Argos.

Trip Schedule

Day 1

Arrival in Athens. Pick up and check in at Hera Boutique Hotel (or similar in the centre of Athens)

Dinner at Peackock restaurant (located in Hera Boutique Hotel). Peackock restaurant is located in the roof garden and is offering a magnificent view to the Acropolis hill and Athens city centre. It is a good opportunity to meet the rest of the team and familiarize yourself better with the philosophy of the trip.

 

 

Day 2

Morning: Tour in Athens. Acropolis, Acropolis museum, lunch in the area of the Ancient Agora and Plaka.

The Agora was the center of political and public life in Ancient Athens. It was a large open area surrounded by buildings of various functions. The Agora was utilized for commerce, political, religious and military activity

Night: Visit Lycabettus hill and dinner. The hill of Lycabettus is the highest peak of Athens, which overlooks the capital from 277 meters. It offers spectacular views over Athens and the suburbs. You can view the Athens city centre, the Acropolis, the Pireaus Port, Aegina Island and the Saronic Gulf.

 

Day 3

  • Breakfast at the Hotel

  • Morning: Guided tour at Athens Monastiraki Flea Market area and traditional souvlaki lunch.

  • Afternoon: Departure for Hopeland.

 

Day 4

 

Morning

The day will start with a walking guided tour to the famous archaeological site of Mycenae. The ‘Gold Mycenae’ was the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon, first sung by Homer in his epics. The Mycenaean Palace was the most important and richest palatial center of the Late Bronze Age in Greece and its name was given to one of the greatest civilizations of Greek prehistory, the Mycenaean. The myths associated with their history crossed the centuries, from the Homeric epics and the great tragedies of the classical period, while inspired, and continue to inspire, the world intellectual creation and art. We will have a coffee or snack break and later in the day we will check in Hopeland and take a late lunch.

 

Afternoon

Seminar: The meaning and symbolism of herbs in our life and health. During the seminar we will have the opportunity to have answers on questions like: How did they cure in ancient Greece? Which was the role of mythology, sculptures and Gods? How could they understand the mystic meaning and reality of herb’s behavior in their own system of bio-variety? The answers will lead us to understand lots of several formulas for a better life and a healthier way of living.

 

Day 5

 

Morning

Trip to the sea, an opportunity to swim in the beautiful beaches of the area.

Lunch in a local tavern with fresh seafood.

 

Afternoon

A creative introduction to the Greek Mythology. A storytelling performance by the storyteller Maria Papa. Maria will narrate the Myths of Perseus the legendary founder of Mycenae. The powerful myths of the Perseid dynasty will be heard in the land of Mycenae, the land of heroes and legends! A mystic storytelling journey about one of the greatest heroes of Greek mythology and his powerful dynasty.

 

Day 6

 

In the morning there is going to be a Cooking lesson or a Winery Visit and in the evening a special Greek party is going to be organized only for the participants of the trip.

 

 

Day 7

 

Morning

Guided tour to the Great Ancient Theater of Epidaurus (340 BC). Among all the ancient theaters, Epidaurus theater is the most beautiful and best preserved. It was destined for the fun of the patients of Asklipieio, the Sanctuary of Asklepios at Epidaurus, where sick people and seekers arrived from all over Greece and the Mediterranean basin in order to be healed.

Lunch in Hopeland.

 

Afternoon

Seminar on Herbs: In our second meeting, the lab-day, Mr Kallimanis, the conductor of the seminar, will show us how to prepare our first cold creams, bee's wax creams, lotions and how can we choose the special herbs for our skin and needs. Everyone can take part to the preparation and work on his/her personal cosmetic form. We will close the lab-day by showing how we can produce an ancient symposium wine; Mr Kallimanis will give us a recipe and we will produce it all together so as to have a real taste of a symposium.

 

Day 8

 

Morning

Free morning. Lunch in Hopeland.

 

Afternoon

Guided tour and dinner at Nafplio, a beautiful seaport town in the Peloponnese and the first capital of Greece. Dinner in one of the local taverns in Nafplio.

 

Day 9

 

An all-day art therapy workshop in Hopeland. Through the history of Perseids, we are going to follow the footsteps of a hero traveling with him/her through time and places out in nature and in the unconscious. We will open a creative dialogue, not only with what we already know, but also with what our imagination creates. Through the creative use of the art and its symbols, we will be invited to follow new pathways in discovering the piece of art and the meaning of art itself.

Day 10

 

Transfer service to the airport of Athens. Departure.
