Before reaching our destination, we will visit the archaeological site of Mycenae, the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon, first sung by Homer in his epics. The Mycenaean Palace was the most important and richest palatial center of the Late Bronze Age in Greece and its name was given to one of the greatest civilizations of Greek prehistory, the Mycenaean. The myths associated with their history crossed the centuries, from the Homeric epics and the great tragedies of the classical period, while inspired, and continue to inspire, the world intellectual creation and art. On our way to Nafplio, we are going to stop at Silo Art www.siloart.gr, a unique and relaxing destination for art lovers. There we are going to enjoy a traditional Greek lunch with different Greek small plates called “mezedes” and attend a pottery workshop. We will have the opportunity to travel back in time, learning about how and from where the ceramic arts started and, with the help of the instructors, we can also create our own pottery items.

The evening is free for a pleasant walk around the narrow paved streets of the Old Town of Nafplio, like a trip to the Medieval past.

Day 4

Guided tour to the archaeological site of Epidaurus. We are going to visit the Great Theater of Epidaurus, the most beautiful and best preserved of all the ancient theaters, destined for the fun of the patients of Asklipieio, and the Sanctuary of Asklepios: a sacred place where sick people and seekers arrived from all over Greece and the Mediterranean basin in order to be healed.

Asclepius Engimisis (sleep) meditation

A special therapeutic method that was kept alive through the ancient Greek tradition of the Messengers of Light. It will start with relaxation and it will continue with a guided meditation. During this meditation the participants will meet the quality or vibration of the god Apollo, who will advise him about every spiritual or physical matter that concerns him. These messages can take the form of direct speech, prophecy, symbolic images or symbols in general.

Read more about Engimisis here.

On our return to the hotel in the afternoon, there is going to be a two-hour discussion about what the participants experienced in the Avaton in Epidaurus, together with the decoding and clarification of the prophecies and further therapeutical advice.

The adventures of Ulysses will become a fount of knowledge that will illuminate the difficulties we have to encounter in our lives and the way we should do it.

Day 6

Visit to the Ancient Messene, a significant ancient city with sanctuaries, public buildings, imposing fortifications, houses and tombs. Its natural setting combines the grandeur of the mountains of Delphi with the low-lying riverine tranquility of Olympia, the dominating bare limestome mass of Ithome, the site of the ancient acropolis, with the low fertile valley around the ancient city.

In the afternoon we will participate in the second part of Ulysses' Journey seminar.
